Who Edits These Guides
The Alberta driving guides on this site are written and edited under the pen name Mark Goh, Editor. That is a pen name, not a legal name, and we say so plainly here rather than let readers assume otherwise.
The editor writes and edits every guide, checks every number and rule against a primary source at the time of writing, and records a "reviewed" date on each article so readers can see how current it is.
Sources We Use
We rank sources by authority and prefer the highest one available for any given fact:
- 🏛️Government of Alberta pages on alberta.ca — the first place we check for current rules, fees, and program details.
- ⚖️Alberta King's Printer for the Traffic Safety Act and its regulations, including the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation (Alta Reg 304/2002) — the actual legislation the knowledge exam draws from.
- 💳The Registry Agent Product Catalogue for government and service fees charged at registry offices.
- 📘The official Alberta driver's handbook for practical rules and driving technique.
We do not use secondary sources — blogs, forums, other driving-school sites — for any number or rule that appears in a guide. If a fact cannot be traced to one of the sources above, it does not go in.
How We Handle Facts
Every figure in a guide is quoted alongside the source it came from. Where Alberta publishes no fixed figure for something — for example, there is no fixed minimum passing distance for cyclists in Alberta law, only a "safe distance, moderate speed" rule — the guide says that plainly instead of inventing a number.
Registry service charges vary from office to office, so any fee total that includes a service charge is given as a range, not a single flat number.
Review Cadence
Each guide carries a visible "reviewed" date. Guides are re-checked whenever Alberta changes a rule, a fee, or a form — not on a fixed schedule, but whenever the underlying source changes.
Corrections
Found something wrong in a guide? Readers can report it any time through our contact page or by emailing albertaclass7test@yahoo.com directly. Confirmed errors are fixed and the guide's review date is updated to reflect the correction.
How This Relates to the Quiz
The practice questions on this site are a separate question bank, built and maintained on its own review cycle. The guides are reading material: free, no sign-up, written to explain the rules behind the questions rather than to test you on them.
This site is supported by advertising and reader donations. Ads never influence which rules a guide describes or how it describes them — the content is the same whether an ad loads or not.
